Gorna Vasilitsa, while considered a larger than average village in this area, has a very easy pace of life, very peaceful and for those wishing to take a break from busy modern life and recharge the batteries, a stay in Gorna Vasilitsa is recommended. There are virtually no shops or bars (except a small village shop) and this really is a traditional small Bulgarian village, untouched by change or modern life.

Gorna Vasilitsa is very easy to access from Sofia (no more than an hour by virtually direct road) and it is on the airport side of the city. The village is also just off the main road to Ihtiman town and Kostenets too. Ihtiman is also the location of Bulgaria's first 18 hole golf course (this village may therefore be a consideration for any fans of the sport!).
